In a new interview with Elle, McKayla revealed that religion is a huge part of her life. She is a devotee of the Church of the Master Angels, a self-described "unitary, non-denominational, faith-based community Church." She explains that the first time she met with the leader, "Master John," she said she felt "immediate" relief from her trauma. "It's obviously not for everyone," she said."If you want to go to a healer, go to a healer. If you like psychics, whatever, do that. At the end of the day, it's my choice." Now, prayer and meditation are a regular part of her life.
She also told Elle that writing and music making is part of her coping mechanism. Not only does she write down her feelings, but sings and makes music. She also started a social media accounted devoted to all things health, called Glohe. "Welcome to Glohé, my health & wellness account! This is a place of support, self love, and positivity. I'll be share sharing my honest story with physical and mental health… Fitness, skin care, and beauty, and giving tips on things i've learned along the way," she wrote, introducing the account. "I want this account to help people feel less alone with whatever they're struggling with, because we truly are in this together."
"I workout 50% for physique, and 50% because I just really enjoy it," she wrote in a recent post on Glohe, her Instagram account devoted to all things health and wellness. "I love growing my glutes, and building more hips (since I don't really have them) but I also love the glow it brings to my skin, and the massive mental health boost I get."
"Ayurvedic medicine really helped me grasp the understanding that health is an everyday practice of being present with the self," she wrote in a Glohe post. "It's not a perfect diet, or workout routine, or magical supplement. It's always changing, and being flexible, and listening to where you're bodies at, and responding accordingly. Depending on the seasons, the stress in your life, an injury or health issue, or the goals for yourself at that time!"
McKayla enjoys outdoor activities, regularly sharing on social media about her love of the sun, ocean, and nature. "Needed a hike," she captioned a recent photo.
