Philip Jason Everly, popularly known as Phil Everly, was born on the 19th day of January in the year 1939, and he hails from Chicago, Illinois, in the United States of America.
Phil Everly, alongside his elder brother, simply identified as Don Everly, formed The Everly Brothers music band. Other members of the group include their in-laws, Janet Ertel and Archie Bleyer.

He was the son of a Kentucky coal miner named Milford “Ike” Everly Jr, who later turned musician. Years later, Phil Everly and his family moved to Chicago from Kentucky. Not long after, they relocated to Iowa from Chicago. At the age of 6, he and his older brother Don Everly were already singing with their parents on the morning radio.

Phil Everly and his family moved to Knoxville, Tennessee, in the year 1953, where he and his brother attended the West High School. Two years later, after relocating to Knoxville in Tennessee, His older brother graduated from high school in 1955.
While Phil Everly attended the Peabody Demonstration School in Nashville, from which he graduated in 1957.

Phil Everly has been married a couple of times. He was first married to Jacqueline Alice Ertel on the 12th of January 1963, things fell apart between the two couples, and they annulled their union in 1970. Phil Everly and Jacqueline Alice Ertel gave birth to one child.
Two years after divorcing Jacqueline Alice Ertel, he married another lady simply identified as Patricia Mickey. Phil Everly and Patricia Mickey reportedly tied the knot on the 15th of July 1972. He and Patricia Mickey had a fallout, and they annulled their oath on the 22nd of December 1978.
21 years after his divorce from Patricia Mickey, Phil Everly found love again; he married another lady simply identified as Patrice Yvonne Arnold on the 23rd of August 1999. Phil Everly and Patrice Yvonne Arnold were together until he died on the 3rd of January, 2014.
Phil Everly had two children, namely Jason Everly and Chris Everly before his demise.
Career
Phil Everly and his brother Don Everly chased their solo careers from 1973 to 1983. Don Everly found some success on the US country charts in the late 70s in Nashville, Tennessee.
While Phil Everly worked as a backup singer for Roy Wood in his 1975 album titled Mustard.
He recorded more songs than his brother, but he had no chart success until the 1980s. In 1983, Phil Everly had a huge breakthrough in the United Kingdom with his debut album titled Phil Everly, in which he recorded most of the tracks in London.
Phil Everly featured some notable musicians on the album. Some of the featured artists included Dire Straits, a guitarist, Mark Knopfler, Rockpile drummer Terry Williams, and keyboard player Pete Wingfield.
One of the tracks from the album titled “She Means Nothing to Me” was written and composed by John David Williams, and it also features Cliff Richard as co-lead vocalist. It was a UK Top 10 hit.

Phil Everly died at the Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California, on January 3, 2014, 16 days after his 75th birthday.

Patrice Arnold, the widowed wife of Phil Everly, blamed her husband’s death on his smoking habit, which caused him to develop chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and recounted Phil Everly‘s spending his final years having to carry oxygen tanks with him wherever he went and taking 20 different types of medications per day.
