Rebel Wilson's total health transformation is one of the most inspiring of the decade. The Pitch Perfect star, who first declared she was on a mission to become the healthiest version of herself possible in early 2020, initially dropped 60 pounds in less than a year. And, according to the actress during a July 26 Instagram Live , she is now down "like 70 pounds, 75 pounds, maybe a bit more." This weekend, the star celebrated her belated 41st birthday by showing off her fit figure during a tropical birthday bash, looking incredibly svelte and happy. Rebel kept her focus on health, not the number on the scale. "To me what the year of health was, was just being a healthier version," she recently explained to Jamila Rizvi on The Weekend Briefing per Yahoo Australia. She also noted that she was motivated by improving her fertility and also curbing emotional eating. "It wasn't about losing a set amount of weight, although I did put a goal originally of 75 kilos so I could have something tangible to work towards. But it's not about a number or a dress size, or anything like that.'It was just about being the healthiest version of me and I dedicated all of 2020 to doing that, and I'm proud of myself," she said.

While she admits she did "annoy some people" by regularly posting about her health journey on social media, Rebel claims it helped keep her accountable. "I feel really good within myself and I like to celebrate the journey," she explained. "And also, why I did it publicly was for accountability as well, because it's all good and well just having a little experiment and if you don't tell people about it you could just easily fail, whereas if I tell the whole world on social media, then that's pretty good motivation."

While Rebel is proud of her journey, she told The Weekend Briefing that it hasn't impacted her self-esteem. "I think people are beautiful in all different sizes, and I would feel just as confident rocking my size 16 dress as I do now. I'm about a size 8 now," she said. "I loved being bigger and it never stopped me from achieving anything in my life."

During her Q&A, Rebel revealed a few of her health secrets. "Adequate sleep, walking, hydrating, [and] drinking water," she said. "You'll always see me with a FIJI [water] in my hand, and balance it with the nutrition," she said.

Rebel understands that health has as much to do with the mind as it does the body. "I think because I approached it from all areas … the biggest thing that I haven't ever worked on was the emotional side, what I suffered from, I guess, as classical emotional eating … so I really worked on that side," she told Extra about her weight loss.

Rebel relied on the Mayr Method as a blueprint for her weight loss. The star has stayed at their clinic, VivaMayr, a few times, detoxing via spa treatments, mental health sessions, and undergoing diet and fitness revamps. One of the major changes she has made? Reducing gluten and dairy, eating high alkaline foods like veggies and fish and altering her dietary approach—including when and how she eats.

Rebel knows that exercise is a fundamental component of overall health. "This week was super busy but I got up super early 3 times (6am 😜) and went on a hike…even did a couple of 100m sprints to get the heart rate even higher (although my 'sprint' is probably someone else's 'slow jog' 😝) but I felt proud of myself and now only 3kg's away from my goal weight!" she wrote on Instagram.
