Traci Lords hesitated to take role in Zack & Miri Make a Porno

Traci Lords is trying her best to leave her porn past behind. One wouldn’t think the best way to do that would be to take a role in a movie called Zack & Miri Make a Porno, but it could prove to be an excellent segue. In the movie, she plays a porn star, she just doesn’t have to do her own stunts. But because Lords really wants to make the transition from notorious teen porn star to legitimate adult actress, she was hesitant to take a role that was so familiar to her former reality.

“I’m a huge fan of Kevin Smith, so I said,’Yay!’ but when my manager told me the title I went, ‘What?’ Does he know I’m a mom now?”

Traci ultimately decided to take the role but says her infamous life as a teen porn star is no longer a part of who she is.

“I have a different life now, a great husband and a great baby. My old life no longer defines me.”

I know the roles that are offered to Traci Lords are probably pretty limited. She’s not a great actress, although, she did win Best Actress at the 2001 U.S. Comedy Arts Festival for her part in Chump Change. The distinction of being best actress at comedy festival could be dubious, though. Everything I’ve seen her in she plays a take on her own image, on Traci Lords: Former Porn Queen.

As familiar and comfortable you would assume Lords would be with porn in all it’s forms, she’s very bothered by one newer phenomenon of the industry.

Traci says she can’t stand all the internet porn spam! “[Porn] is not something that I’m sitting and watching these days but from all the spam, I hate when that comes across my computer!” she says.

If porn isn’t something Traci’s looking at these days, she may want to start asking some questions around the house. I’m not an expert, but aren’t porn pop-ups generated by visiting porn sites? That tracking cookie ratted out my ex-husband every time! Traci really needs to look into a pop-up blocker and Spyware program because her computer sounds like it may have a problem. And then just get her porn on DVD.
